Alzheimer's Disease: Signs & Symptoms
Early Signs:
Typical early signs are memory problems
Another common sign is declining of non-memory cognitive abilities such as word-finding, vision/spatial issues, and impaired reasoning or judgment
These signs signal the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease
Since Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative disorder, symptoms worsen as the disease progresses and ultimately leading up to death
Mild Alzheimer’s
Individuals will experience greater memory loss and other cognitive degeneration
(Alzheimer's is usually diagnosed here)
Symptoms:
Damages to areas of brain that control reasoning, language, sensory process, and conscious thought
Symptoms:
Individuals with severe Alzheimer’s are unable to communicate with others and unable to have independent care. Most of the time they are bedridden and experience health problems: this is the time before their body shuts down.
